A & S:
Banners Al Fresco:
Everyone is challenged to bring a banner which they have made to explicitly commemorate Spring, Foxes, and their joy of the return of Dancing Fox.

Nordenhal will be having workshops during their A & S nights if you want to come work on a banner.  If you need help or supplies in articulating your idea, you can find these at our A & S workshops as well.  (Wednesdays from 4 PM to 8PM with clean up starting at 7:30 PM) For directions:  https://www.rcpe.info/

Brigitte’s DESSERT CHALLENGE:

Brigitte has issued her dessert challenge!  Entrants should bring a dessert (or desserts, you may enter more than once) to fit into:

Foxes:  Foxes know a little about a lot of things.  They are also tricksters, so entries in this category may appear with less than authoritative documentation, and perhaps not fit into a particular period of pre-17th C.  cultures

Hedgehogs:  Hedgehogs know a lot about one thing.  These entries will be held to a higher degree of scrutiny, and should have full documentation and come from a particular pre-17th C.  culture.

Brigitte and her panel of judges will sample all entries, but desserts will be shared by all guests of the event!  Questions may be directed to Brigitte (as listed below.)

NB:  If your dessert needs to be kept cool, please bring it in a cooler!  Thank you!

DRESSING THE FOX:

Yes, for those who like to fabricate fancy finery, a faux fox will be provided along with fabric of all types, and you will get to design persona stories and garb for your furred friend and enter a fashion show at the end of the day.  (You may bring your own fabric, etc.) We ask that you make a $10 donation to help defray the cost of supplying plushies.  The winner will get a special surprise from the autocrat!  (Children must have an adult supervise them in the dressing the fox area.)

CLOTHING MAGNUS VULPES:

Follow the link to measurements of Magnus Vulpes!  He loves his finery.  Folks are challenged to create new attire for him.  For this challenge you may begin work at home with your own material and finish at the event, or create the item totally at the event with your own materials or materials we supply.  There will be an accolade for the best outfits!  See the diagram for the great fox’s dimensions.  (link TBA)

Silent Auction:

To help defray the cost of Dancing Fox, we will be holding a silent auction.  If you have items that you wish to donate, please feel free to bring them along, fill out and print this form to bring with your item.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NwkhAEQWseOLoU3dtQCPMkMJWQ3_91y-7jSRCTKtZnM/edit

Bids will be accepted in Cash/Paypal/Venmo.  The most gentle lady Vidra will be accepting paypal/venmo payments at the Dressing the Fox Booth; Lady Ceara will be running the auction.

Vending:
There will be room for vendors at the event.  If you are interested in vending you must supply your own tables.  We will not be placing vendors in the hot hot sun this go round, but do bring easy ups in case of weather.  (Vendors may have early access.  Please contact the Autocrat listed below to register as a vendor and for more information.)

Youth Combat Ages 6-17:

The Youths of the Shire of Nordenhal, and all lands beyond, are invited to cross swords At the Sign of the Dancing Fox!  The list field will be prepared and ready for all comers.  Bring your weapons, wits, and will to do battle.  Bring your friends and family to fight and cheer you on.  Sorry, no dragons, it’s a non-smoking site!

Youths will battle one-on-one, as teams, and in an all-out mêlée.  We may run a bear pit if time and attendance allow.

Please bring any protective gear from other sports you may have (LAX or Ice Hockey work well); we will have limited loaner gear.  Please be sure to bring your own groin protector as we do not have loaner groin protection (required for all genders).  Please bring any approved youth combat weapons you may have.  We may not have enough loaners.

Waivers are necessary for any event, practice, or gathering in which youth are participating in martial activities.

Waiver forms are available here:  https://www.sca.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/chldwaiv.pdf

In addition to standard Minor Waiver form, there’s also a roster-style Family Minor Waiver for families with multiple children available here:  https://www.sca.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/waiver_minor_family.pdf
We will have waiver forms available at the event.

The waiver requirement can be fulfilled either by signing a waiver form, or by showing a blue membership card (which denotes that a signed waiver is already on file with the Society).

Minors who attend practices or events without their parents or legal guardians — such as with a family friend, aunt, etc — must have a signed medical authorization form that designates a responsible adult who can consent to medical treatment on their behalf.

Medical Authorization Forms are available here:  https://www.sca.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/treatminor.pdf
Please have this form completed when you arrive.
