Event details

Greetings from Drachenwald!

If you have been considering a trip to Europe this summer, why not start it by coming into the friendly airport of Dublin, (which hosts US immigration for your return) and starting your Grand Tour at Strawberry Raid III May 30-June 3 at Sigginstown Castle, Wexford Ireland (event is not in CT as website code required!)

We are excited to host the third annual event - every year we try to make some improvements (like having roofs on ruined buildings ????).  This is a camping event and our local group Duninmara is gathering loaner tents, but you can also book a nice airbnb or bnb for a bed nearby.

We are located 2 hours due south of Dublin with an easy bus ride from the airport, and 15 minutes from Rosslare Harbour with ferries to France, Spain and UK if you choose to leave the Emerald Isle (although there is plenty to see in Wexford and Ireland)

We are excited to host the Royalty of Drachenwald, and often get visitors from several other Kingdoms plus all over Drachenwald.

Directions:

Get to Ireland!  Most popular way is to fly into Dublin (east), but Shannon airport also an option from USA (farther from Wexford and no direct transport)

Once in Ireland, make your way by train, bus or car to Wexford Town.  From Dublin airport an easy 2.5 to 3 hour bus ride will take you there for a moderate price and no changes.  We are about 20 min from Wexford Town.  Then you can take a taxi for about €30 to the castle.

If driving, besides being on the opposite side of the road, most of the 2 hour drive south is on highway, only the last 10 minutes to the castle is on country roads.  Most rentals are manual transmission but you can book an automatic for a bit more.  Autoeurope or kemwel.com have best prices typically (get insurance as most US cards don’t cover Ireland ).
