Knives (and Axes and Spears) Out: A Throwers' Schola

Hosted by Shire of Anglespur - East Greenbush, NY

Event date: October 19th, 2024

Event Last Modified: April 7th, 2024

Event details

Come one, come all, to a day of all things related to thrown weapons.  We have indoor space for a class track, and outdoor space for two ranges.  There will be opportunities for royal rounds, practice throwing, and a tournament.

Whether you are brand new to thrown weapons, a champion, or anything in between, there will be something for everyone.  If you are an MiT, this is an excellent opportunity to get some range hours in.  We hope to have a Regional Marshal present to administer the warranting exam; this information will be confirmed closer to the event date.

*Please note:  This event is being held in a public town park, with administrative support from town officials.  Expect a higher-than-normal amount of non-members in attendance.  Please help the shire to welcome them and show why the SCA is a wonderful thing!
Because of the public nature of our event site, some people will just be passing through.  They are allowed to watch the range and ask questions without fully being part of the event, please be respectful of this.

Schedule:
-9am:  Event staff report to site
-10am:  Site opens to public, event activities begin
-6pm:  Event activities end

-Advanced Throwing taught by Master Colin MacKenzie (class will be held on the range)
