Fall Crown Tournament

TRM will be in attendance

Hosted by Shire of Mountain Freehold - Rutland, VT

Event date: October 26th, 2024

Event Last Modified: September 13th, 2024

Event details

The Shire of Mountain Freehold is delighted to host the Crown Tournament of Their soon-to-be Majesties of the East, Fiamuin and Matthew, as they choose their Heirs.

The tournament will be held indoors, in a former hockey rink, on a concrete floor.  If the weather cooperates it is possible for the Tourney to be held outdoors.  Please note that the indoor space is not heated.  There is space for seating, but the chairs are folding chairs - you may wish to bring your own chairs.  Pop-up tents for vigils are allowed.  The site is dry (no alcohol) and pets are not permitted (except service dogs).  For handicap accessibility, there are no stairs.  The ground is a bit rough and uneven, inside and out, but we will provide ramps for the single steps and thresholds.  Bathrooms are accessible.  There are no showers.

We have also reserved a nearby barn for merchants.  The barn is rustic, with a dirt floor, and electrical outlets.  You'll need to bring tables and chairs.  There is no internet network on site, but cell phone reception should be OK.

For Mid day sustenance, there are several options
1) Box lunches will be available for $10 each, by advance reservation only - see event announcement
2) Additionally, we will supply some hot drinks and soups by donation.
3) There may be a food truck (burgers and fries) operating adjacent to the arena.
4) The area also has a good variety of eateries within a mile or two of the site.
5) You may bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages into the arena.

Hotels:  There are a number of good hotels in the area.  Strongly recommended are:  Hampton Inn, Best Western and the Comfort Inn.  Be aware that other hotels in the area are used for Vermont's homeless population.
The event is less then 30 miles from the Killington Ski resort so there are also quite a few Airbnb options you may want to explore.

There will be a separate Gate line dedicated to Combatants and Consorts, to allow for speedy entry.  Please help us by pre-registering.
