Tournament of the Daffodils VIII

Spring is once again upon us, with its gentle showers and budding flowers the newfound warmth greets us as the daffodils dance with the soft breeze of hope.  And with the change of season and thawing of another winter comes time once more to celebrate!  And there is much to celebrate as we come together at the end of April for another Tournament of Daffodils!  Midland Vale invites all to come and celebrate with us as we enjoy the spring, each other and the spirit of competition it brings!!

Midland Vale came together and created Tournament of Daffodils as a celebration of the populace.  As such the tournaments and fighting are run slightly different.  There are winners of each individual tournament, to be sure, however the overall winner is chosen at large by the populace!  At gate you will be given two flowers and throughout the day you are encouraged to watch all the fighters.  By the end of the tournaments there will be a call to present your chosen fighters, one flower for a rattan fighter and one for a rapier fighter.  You are to chose by your own standards, whoever inspired you, there are no wrong choices. 

As is Daffodils custom we'll be planning on running faster tournaments to have different varieties and multiple formats.  With this being the final tournament before Crown, should rapier fighters choose, we can run a more formal crown format as well.

With the change from the church site to the camp site, we no longer have access to a kitchen, food menu will be confirmed but most likely catered by a food truck, bbq style.
