Ruantallan Baronial War Camp 2025: Back to Basics

Greetings to the Populace of our fair Barony!

The time is once again upon us to gather and share our company and skills.  Whether you are a fighter, fencer, archer, thrower, or artisan. 
Considering the wonderful influx of newer folks to our shores, we wanted to tailor this camp to them.  Back to Basics lets us put on various classes to show our newer folks what we can do, and how we can help them grow within our Society. 
With that in mind, we are putting a call out for teachers!  Do you have a skill you want to share? A passion you would love to have a new person to teach it to? Please let us know! 
We will be asking for volunteers up until May 15th, 2025.  This way we have lots of time for you to prepare. 

As always, we will have many of the usual activities. 
THL Edmund will be organizing our Rattan and Thrown Weapons Activities
Syr Thorin will be organizing our Fencing activities. 
Dame Sarra and THL Angus will be leading our Archery activities. 

Our own Thegn Hugh has invited the Brewers of our fine lands and those looking to learn, to join him the first night of camp.  That way they can share their creations, talk about future projects, and brainstorm together with their ideas. 
He will also be discussing a future Brewing competition. 

We hope to have a social, and potentially a torchlight tourney Friday night.  More details on that to follow. 

A few notes about the event!

There is no running water on site.  You will have to bring your own in.
This site is located in Great Village, so Truro Walmart is not far away. 
There are no Washrooms.  We will have multiple Porta potties, including an accessible one. 
We have a central fire pit for sitting around at night. 

There are braziers on site for local fires.  Folks can also bring their own. 

No fires in the ground please. 

One last note.  Garbage has to be removed when you leave please. 


This is a new site for us.  There will likely be some growing pains.  We ask that everyone come out and help us to build it up. 
Our own Marina (The organizer of Geekquinox and many other events) and her group have purchased this land with the intention of building it up into a local version of Biccoline (The site of Les Beltaines.)
The best part is how Central this is for everyone in the Maritimes. 
This has the potential to be a great site moving forward.
